Background

The Education Foundation is the UK’s first cross sector education think tank, with a mission to help create a world class British education system. Co-founded by Ty Goddard and Ian Fordham in 2011 our work focuses on education reform, technology & innovation and helping to tackle the biggest policy challenges facing the system. We recently hosted the UK's first Education Reform Summit in July 2014 in partnership with the Department for Education as well as running major projects, collaborations and ventures with the education, policy and business sector.

Labour Teachers was established in 2011 to develop new ways of building dialogue between teachers in the Labour Party and policy-makers. Co-founded by John Blake and John Taylor we host discussions, roundtable meetings and innovative events to bring together party members at the chalkface together, with Labour’s education frontbench to share ideas and experiences.

PolicyMeet Manchester
This is the second PolicyMeet event run at the Labour Party conference - building on the successful event ran in Brighton in 2013 which was based on the TeachMeet format where grassroots teachers gather to share their experiences and work. The PolicyMeet gathers together educators, policy makers and politicians to share ideas that could potentially shape future policy and we are delighted to be running this event in Manchester at a crucial time in the lead up to the 2015 general election.
